Electronica? Any good electronica bands with female singers?
How do I learn digital/midi sequencing software to create electronica music? I've played keyboard and composed music all my life. I want to create electronica and produce my music, but I have to learn how to use the midi sequencing software. Which software is the best? Where can I learn to use it? Is there an instructional class somewhere? (I live in Dallas.) This is my dream but I am clueless about this new technology. Any advice would be great. Thanks!
Anyone know of an electronica music coach or links to one? (i would pay of course) I'm not talking about just learning how to do "production" (there are lots of books about that). I'm talking about that, and the coach helping me through tutorials/exercises (whatever method they can think of) to learn how to make electronica music (I guess you could use the terms-arranging/composing. But I'm talking about learning to arrange loops, samples, live recordings, to create a song using things like sequencing, sampling, loops, and MIDI- not writing down musical notes for a symphony-so i don't know what to really call it). You know, how to create a song (styles such as-experimental ambient, chill, trance, ect.) and to help me develop my skills.

What will i need to record electronica/dance/techno music?? Styles similar to Cascada and O-zone. What kind of softwear will i need? What kind of electronics?? Are they expensive? I'm a teen, i don't have a job yet. What's a 'synthizer'?? What kind of instruments will i need to make this kind of music?? How can I record this stuff without a band (I kinda WANT to do it myself) or a studio. I've had bass experiance and electric guitar too. What do i need to produce "nick nack" sounds to add into my music?? Can anyone just tell me EVERYTHING about making electronica/dance/techno music? Oh, and can you tell me the exact genre of Cascada and O-zone? Are they dance, electronica, or techno?? Thank you all!!!
What are some good asian electronica albums? I have been trying to add some good asian electronica to my collection, but it can be a risky investment since there don't seem to be many good reviews out there. I am not asian either, so I am very limited when it comes to buying from foreign sites. I am looking for something more creative than the euro-trance that seems to be so popular; it's often too fast and repetitive. Songs like Kotoko's "Re-Sublimity" and Origa's "Inner Universe" are good examples of what I'm looking for. Thanks!
How many people understand that the term "Electronica" is just a buzzword coined by the music industry? Back in the late 90's, it was invented by the monster music/record labels to bring a previously unpopular genre to the mainstream. Techno (which is actually a SUB-genre of electronic music) was the term used by many rave/music ignorant folk to describe all of electronic music. The term became unpopular, even infamous, so the recording industry invented the term "electronica" to describe all of the electronic music out there. It is not a real word, and former rave/electronic musicians find it offensive to call their works "electronica", including myself. So please, spread the word. "Electronica" is a made up term to breath life back into a genre of music that became unpopular with the mainstream. Don't give the recording industry the pleasure of making money off of it. Just call it "Electronic music", or "Electronic dance music (EDM)", because that's exactly what it is! :-) It really does matter. The fact that crooks made the term up to make money off of a genre of music that they did not even create is disgusting enough. The giant recording labels in the U.S. are thieves and crooks. They don't deserve the money from this. It's like how they "re-invented" punk-rock with fake artists like avril and blink-182... They're not real musicians, they're not creative, and they're trying to make money off of it, instead of being musicians just for the sake of being musicians. It's disturbing, at the least.
What are some good Electronica/Indie Bands? Im looking for the underground/not well known stuff. Some examples of what im looking for are Stereolab, Kings of Convenience, Blonde Redhead, Grizzly Bear, etc. Any Electronica/Not known Indie (very general), even hip hop would be great guys. Album and Artist names too. Thanks a bunch.
What is some good techno / electronica music? I would like some reccomendations on some chill, laid back type techno music. Nothing to crazy and upbeat like at crazy euro rave. I really like the stuff Moby produces. What is some good music that I should check out? thanks
